This privacy policy sets out and informs you of the manner in which Association Ekuthuleni, Association Loi 1901 uses and protects any information that you may provide to us when you use this site accessible from the following URL: https://www.ekuthuleni.org and register for one of our retreats or activities.

Please note that this privacy policy may be amended or supplemented at any time by the Ekuthuleni Association, in particular in order to comply with any changes in legislation, regulations, case law or technology.

About the Association Ekuthuleni Loi 1901 RNA : W112001335

The object of the association is the study and practice of Buddhist and spiritual teachings with an emphasis on the link between ourselves and nature, as well as respect for the latter. 

To this end, the association organises meditation retreats and offers activities at the Ekuthuleni Retreat Centre and online.

Its field of activity: religious, spiritual or philosophical activities.

What personal information are you asked to provide? 

  • To sign up for the newsletter and for our communications about the activities of the Ekuthuleni Retreat Centre and the weekly reminder about online guided meditation: email, and if needed, first and last name

  • For registration for a retreat or course: surname, first name, email address, telephone number, postal address, an emergency contact person, optional information about yourself, your experience of meditation or spiritual paths, whether your state of health could lead to difficulties in following the course and food intolerances. 

  • For the use of the website Essential Cookies that can identify amongst others your IP, navigator, country

By providing this information (Personal Information), you expressly agree to it being processed by Association Ekuthuleni, for the purposes indicated in point 2 below.

How do we use this information? 

Association Ekuthuleni may process your Personal Information:

  • In order to provide you with the information or services you have requested from us and to fulfil our legal obligations. In particular: sending you the Newsletter and information about our activities, taking part in a retreat, becoming a member of the Ekuthuleni Association. 

  1. for the purpose of collecting information that will enable us to improve our website www.ekuthuleni.org 

  1. for the purposes of organising courses and retreats and providing participants with appropriate support during the events (retreats, stays, courses) for which they have registered, e.g. providing suitable food for any dietary restrictions, adapting the venue for a reason communicated via the registration form, providing spiritual support.

Who receives my data?

The Ekuthuleni Association is the recipient of your Personal Information.  Your data, whether in individual or aggregated form, is never passed on to a third party or used by us for commercial purposes.

Any personal Information relating to retreat registrations remains strictly confidential and is only used for the purposes necessary to ensure the well-being of retreat and activity registrants. It’s use is always limited to what is strictly necessary (e.g. providing the retreat cook with a list of first names and food intolerances for registrants).

How long do we keep your Personal Information?

Your Personal Information is kept by Association Ekuthuleni only for the time corresponding to the purpose of collection as indicated in point 2 above.  

The data provided in the registration form for retreats, courses or stays is deleted at the end of the event concerned by the registration within a maximum period of 7 days.

You can unsubscribe from the newsletter and weekly guided meditation communication at any time by using the unsubscribe tools in the email or by sending us a request by letter or email to the address above.

As a EU resident, you have the following rights concerning your Personal Information, which you may exercise by sending us a letter to the postal address or e-mail address mentioned above.

The Ekuthuleni Association undertakes to reply to your request for access, rectification or opposition or any other additional request for information within a reasonable time and in any event within one calendar month of receipt of your request.

Our website is hosted by Squarespace.
